Air-to-water heat pumps
Air-to-water heat pumps provide domestic hot water and heat for water-based heating systems. They get their energy from the outdoor air (down to –20°C), and can be combined with an existing heating system (electricity, wood pellets, oil or electric boiler). They can be installed indoors (CTC CLWi) or outdoors (CTC EcoAir). They reduce energy consumption by 50–60%.
+ Low investment cost.
+ No drilling, no collector hose.
+ Easier installation.
+ High efficiency rating.
+ Easy to combine with solar heating. |
– Unsuitable positioning can cause noise nuisance outdoors.
– Output is lowest when need is greatest.
– Visible outdoors. |
